Unexpected things..

We were dressed and ready to take a flight out for my mother’s special birthday party in Hawaii. It was a two hour flight to her. My boyfriend who is Edward Cullen thought that now its 1 pm, we have to be at the airport at least by 2 pm and he quoted that my mom is not getting younger so we should hurry. We turned on a night light, turned the house answering machine on, covered our pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard. We phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi. The taxi arrived and we opened the front door to leave the house. The cat we put out in the yard, scoots back into the house. We didn’t want the cat shut in the house because she always tries to eat the bird. We had provided ample food for it to last weekend.

I go out to the taxi, while my boyfriend went inside to get the cat. The cat runs upstairs, with him in hot pursuit. Waiting in the cab, I don’t want the driver to know that the house will be empty for the weekend. So, I explain to the taxi driver that I will be out soon, “He’s just going upstairs to say goodbye to his mother.”

A few minutes later, my boyfriend get in the cab “Sorry I took so long,” my boyfriend said, as we drove away. “That stupid bitch was hiding under the bed. Had to poke her with a coat hanger to get her to come out! She tried to take off, so I grabbed her by neck. Then, I had to wrap her in blanket to keep her from scratching me. But it worked!  I hauled her fat ass downstairs and threw her out into the back yard!”

The cab driver hearing this looks in the rear view mirror in astonishment. I was afraid that he might call a police.

When we arrived in the airport, my boyfriend was looking for his passport and visa, he misplaced it. He remembered that he left his passport and visa in the table when he was preparing his things.

He told me that I will be the one who will go first and he promised that he will just follow. I had no choice but to obey him.

Few minutes left the airplane will depart. Suddenly, there was a guy who touches my back when I entered the plane and when I looked at the person. There he was my boyfriend. The visa and passport was not left, he putted it in his other bag.

As I sat on the plane looking over the ocean of blue, I stretched my neck as far as I could, considering the plane windows only allow for a certain amount of stretching, I tried to see the Island of Hawaii, something I had waited 8 years to see again.

At one point I was not able to see the island, but instead I was mesmerized with the ocean of blue. It was so blue it was almost purple, and as clear as a perfectly washed glass, as I could actually see the rocks on the bottom of the ocean from the plane.

It was a sight I will never forget, I knew the water was perfect, however, I never thought I could see the bottom of the ocean from high in the air.

When the plane landed I was one of the first ones off, and the first thing I remembered as I held up the line coming off of the plane, was inhaling as deep as I could!

The air smelled of flowers, a sweet, clean smell of flowers, almost like in a funeral home, but with a happier energy to it.

I continued to enjoy the smell of paradise as I went to the baggage claim to claim my luggage.

And we ride a cab to go to my mother’s house.

I came across a video which really blew me away therefore wanted to share with you all. :)





Now, you have seen this video, what do you feel?
Me, I got teary eyed after watching this video. I was inspired by this man's message, his spirit and determination. And despite his overwhelming disabilities, he let those kids know, that when compared to him, they have nothing to complain about. 


After watching this video, it made me realized that even though you don't have any more arms and the other parts of your body it doesn't mean that you should give up or lose hope. Giving up is not the answer to your problem. There are a lot of solutions to your problem, as what the saying goes "If there is a problem there is always a solution". It is in the bible that everything has a purpose. One of the pastors in the religion "Born Again" says that everything that will happen to you even though it is good or bad, you should thank God because it has a purpose. The man in the video really inspired me a lot I may not know what is really the reason why the other parts of his body was gone but I really salute him because if others will be in his situation for sure he will easily give up. The main message of this video is life is full of problems, when you fall you should learn how to get up. You should try and try. There is no harm in trying.  You should never give up in life. Life is given only once and you have no time to waste it. We should not waste what God had given onto us. 


As a student, I don't know how to become an inspiration to other people because honestly I think I don't have yet the  things to be proud of to other people.  But one thing I can do  is to trust in God and have a strong faith in Him. His the number one that's why I'm inspired with my work and His the one whom I can run to when I have a problem. I may not see him but I can feel Him. I can also inspire others by  studying hard so that I can finish my studies and help my family specially in financial problem. That's the only thing I can do for now.

Writing Definition

Discipline
In its original sense, discipline is referred to systematic instruction given to disciples to train them as students in a craft or trade, or to follow a particular code of conduct or "order". Often, the phrase "to discipline" carries a negative connotation. This is because enforcement of order – that is, ensuring instructions are carried out – is often regulated through punishment.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discipline)


 In addition, discipline is important to one person. Through discipline you can control yourself. If you think you are fat then you can have a diet. If you don't have self-discipline, you cannot control yourself or you cannot reach your goal. Discipline is also a training to us that corrects, molds, or perfects the moral character. It molds us to become a better person. Discipline can be seen in many things and it is needed to one's life.


Accountability
Accountability is the concept in ethics and governance with several meanings. It is often used synonymously with such concepts as responsibility, answerability, blameworthiness, liability, and other terms associated with the expectation of account-giving. As an aspect of governance, it has been central to discussions related to problems in the public sector, nonprofit and private (corporate) worlds. In leadership roles, accountability is the acknowledgment and assumption of responsibility for actions, products, decisions, and policies including the administration, governance, and implementation within the scope of the role or employment position and encompassing the obligation to report, explain and be answerable for resulting consequences.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accountability)


 To put it another way, accountability is the responsibility of one person.  It is an obligation of an individual or organization to account for its activities, accept responsibility for them, and to disclose the results in a transparent manner. Every person has its own responsibility and you are obliged to do that. For me, as a student my responsibility is to study and to graduate. And I have other more responsibility than that like in our house and etc. and it also the obligation to bear the consequences for failure to perform as expected.


Maturity
Maturity is a psychological term used to indicate how a person responds to the circumstances or environment in an appropriate manner. This response is generally learned rather than instinctive, and is not determined by one's age. Maturity also encompasses being aware of the correct time and place to behave and knowing when to act appropriately, according to the situation and the culture of the society one lives in.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maturity_(psychological)


 In other words, maturity refers to a full development of a person. It  is a state of mind and has nothing to do with age. Based on my experience, I have seen many grownups who think childishly and I've also seen many youngsters who think very old. Our age is not controlling us when we will get mature; it depends to the person who can cope with any form of change or alteration from the norm in life experiences. 

#5 My hero, "Katrina Shayne R. Salac"

The person I can say that my hero is “Katrina Shayne R. Salac”. I used to call her “ate Kat”. She is now 24 years old but she doesn’t have a family because she’s not yet ready. She is my cousin and she’s the one who comforts me whenever I have a problem. I treat her as my sister. When my mother is not around she is the one who replace, not a mother but just a sister on us. She is the one who will cook for us and she handles or catches our problems when my mom is not around.

                One day, I had a problem and I really don’t know what to do. I was at my room at that time and I was thinking about my grades because I get low grades on my exams and I also failed in my prelim grade in Filipino 1, my grade was just 3.25. I know that if you are depressed it is better to share your problem to others so that they can give you a piece of advice. The person that I have chosen to share my problem was ate Kat. I share my problem to ate Kat and she give me a inspirational advice. She makes me realize that I am now a college student and these things that I’ll be doing is for my future and also to help my family. I should not waste my time and I should starve hard. She doesn’t want to happen to me what was happened to her. She explained to me that this thing was just a trial for me to become stronger.  She also gave me some tips to change my bad habit that I have which is always roaming around in the city. She told me that it’s not bad to have a friends and bond with them. In every thing there should be limitations and also she told me that I should minimize roaming around in the city because this can’t help me in reaching my goal.

                I am starting to change now those things that just can ruin my life. I also obey the advice that ate Kat had given to me. Those advices really had help to me. My grades now have an improvement. Having a cousin like her really makes me feel that I am so fortunate. Thanks ate Kat for your inspirational advice, you are my hero!

#4 My little sister..

I have a little sister before, my parents named her Kyzna Jane Fae Ranara Ugmad. Her nickname is “nahnah”. She was born on January 1, 1997 and died on February 23, 1998 because of an accident. Some of the people say that those who are born on January 1 are all lucky but I think not all of them. I can’t remember even a single moment with her because I was just two years old when she was born.

Last July 15, 2011, in our English1, we tackled about dead souls. In that night, I dreamed about my younger sister. In my dream, I was at our house. I saw a person make my little sister alive. When my little sister woke up and get out from her coffin, when she saw me, she hugs me tight. After that she cried and she said that she missed me a lot. In the following day in my dream we walked on the road, we held hands together and she never stop saying these words “I miss you ate!”

Last Sunday, February 17, 2011, we visited her in the Luga-it cemetery. She was buried there because my grandmother and grandfather also my relatives was buried there. After we visited her we went to the church and join the Eucharistic mass. 

#3 I stop to say thank you MOM and DAD

Every man needs people to lean on. Even though we encountered problems in life, either if it is neither big nor even small problems but still these persons are always there. We all have different attitudes that sometimes people misunderstood us but still these persons accept us whole-heartedly. These persons whom I meant are the special and important persons which are “My Family”.

            My Family is the reason why I am here in this world, without them I won’t be a successful person like what am I today. I am so glad that I have a family that is so strong. It is strong because we encountered lots of problems but still we face it with courage and we fight with it!

            We all value our family but as I observe nowadays, most of the people did not value their family anymore. I can say that they did not value their family anymore because some or most of the people agreed on the divorce that it will be implemented in the Philippines. But for me, divorce is not the answer or solution of a family problem for I believe in the saying that “if there is a problem there is always a solution”.

            Ten years from now I really promise that I will not let my parents be in a “Home for the Aged” for I value them so much and staying them in that place makes me really hurt. I will be the one who will take good care of them and I will let them stay in the place where I will live in the future. I will not make them suffer and I will assure that they will live happily and satisfied because I love my parents so much more than I love myself.

            Saying thank you to my parents orally for me is not usually used. In me, usually I say thank you to my parents in a way of hugging and kissing them. In kissing and hugging it shows that I love them and I really value them all my life.

            Every night I and my family will have a daily rosary for we believe that “A family that prays together stays forever”J.

           

#2 Am I a good reader and a good writer? or not?

When I was just a kid I usually read some comics, magazines and journals. I collect some of those and put it in a small cabinet inside our room. Every time, when I don’t have things to do I get it all out of the cabinet and read some of those. That is one of my hobbies when I get bored. In this time, when I get older, reading is not my hobby anymore. Reading now for me is kind a “boring”. Keeping journals, magazines and comics are gone in my mind because computer is now there.

 Can I consider myself as a good reader?  For me, yes I can read but I think that I am not that totally a good reader because sometimes, I cannot understand what I am reading. I will read the magazine or journal as many times before I can understand it.

Can I consider myself as a good writer? For me, I cannot consider myself as a good writer. Honestly, I don’t like writing at all since when I was just a kid.

Before, when I start composing, there are a lot of ideas that will come out of my mind and because of that I get confused and I don’t know what I will write. I will be annoyed and start to hate it. And that are the reason why I hate writing.

I usually ask myself why is that I don’t have talent in writing especially in composing like poem and stories? But I realize that it is not necessary that you should be given a talent so that you can be a good writer. You should the one who will find ways that you will be a good writer like practicing. You can train your own self by practicing in making some poems or stories. And in that way you can improve or develop your own writing process and in composing but not only that you can also create thinking skills because in writing your mind is working. It also can broad your knowledge.

#1 My Mission in Life

Every one of us has his own desire. We have a lot of ambitions and dreams in life. A man should be able to strike balance in life because there are so many people who found themselves loss in the wilderness. In the end, they will just feel dissatisfaction of what they have done. That is an example of a person who doesn’t have a mission in life or a person that has a mission in life but incapable to plan accordingly.

One of the most inspiring stories I've read is “The Parable of the Eagle” because I can really relate myself in this story. It encourages me to soar high like an eagle and also it reminds me that we should not give up to the trials that we will encounter. It is a about a journey of one’s mission in life. Just like the eagle, we also have missions and we are determined to make it. Also, this story really makes me sense and open my mind of the real world that there’s always like a "hunter" and a "naturalist" in our own life. 

My purpose through each day of my life is to have an expression of commitment to love my family and friends. I believe all human beings have their own missions in life. As what I discovered we can guess our own missions in life by observing our personal gifts and talents. Every single person in the world has some particular talent. I met a lot of persons in our school and I have never met even one without talent. Usually when I get to know people more closely, I find that they have even more gifts than I thought. We definitely have different gifts and different missions for life. My mission in life is quite simple and straightforward. My mission is to fully utilize my skills, talents and abilities. I will make efforts to farther my knowledge everyday through taking classes and by learning. I will set myself to improve my inferior qualities such as responsibility and compassion so that I can be a better sister to my siblings, daughter to my parents, student to my professors and a nice friend. I will develop my spiritual, physical and emotional strength. Also, one of my missions is to finish my studies so that I can help my parents even in financial. If I will be able to finish my studies, I can find a good job in the future and someday, if I will have my own family I can be able to give them a better life. And Lastly, I will desire success for others.

Your "mission" is your vision plus your action. It is your quest, your dream, your passion, what your life is about. It is so big, so important, that your, mission may never be completed in your lifetime. And it includes the "how"--- your action, what you do. We should not waste our time to those things that can distract and ruin our future. We should be ready in facing trials because it boost or mould us to be a responsible person base in the experience. We should set our own mission in life because as what Doyle Brunson said “A man with money is no match against a man on a mission”.
